Recognizing that numerous ecological connectivity-related initiatives and efforts are ongoing around the world, and that cooperation and collaboration across multiple stakeholders, sectors, and national boundaries is essential, the Global Partnership on Ecological Connectivity (GPEC) was launched during CMS COP14.

GPEC is now fully operational and its partners are actively engaged in advancing connectivity for habitats and species through on-the-ground action. This event will present the progress of GPEC since its launch at COP14, with Partner organizations showcasing ongoing initiatives that promote the conservation of migratory species and address threats to ecological connectivity.

From Jaguars to flyways, cities to landscapes, Partners will demonstrate the vital contribution of ecological connectivity action towards the conservation of migratory and other species across a broad range of ecosystems, contexts, and settings.

Furthermore, this event will highlight recent advances in innovative approaches for planning, financing, and implementing initiatives and projects that advance connectivity, as well as existing and upcoming tools available for countries to report and track  connectivity progress.
