This side event will address selected COP15 agenda items of relevance to implementation of the Central Asian Mammals Initiative. The CAMI work programme 2026-2032 proposed for COP15 adoption identifies priority transboundary conservation regions of importance for conserving migratory mammals, which include protected areas, rangelands and other land uses. This approach aims to strengthen conservation of migratory mammal habitats and address threats to multiple species. The importance of sustainable pasture use for CAMI species conservation will be highlighted. The side event will also briefly introduce the proposals to amend CMS Appendices with regard to Bukhara deer and striped hyena, giving the audience an opportunity to ask technical questions.
