2020/002: New Signatories to the Memoranda of Understanding on Raptors and Sharks

The Secretariat of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) in its capacity as Depositary of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Birds of Prey in Africa and Eurasia (Raptors MOU) and of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Sharks (Sharks MOU) is pleased to inform you that:

·         Ethiopia signed the Raptors MOU on 19 February 2020.  This brings the total number of Signatories to 61.  The Raptors MOU has been in effect since 1 November 2008.

·         Divers for Sharks and Save Our Seas Foundation signed the Sharks MOU on 19 February 2020 bringing the number of Cooperating Partners to 15.

The signing ceremonies were held in the margins of the 13th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Migratory Species in Gandhinagar, India.
