2014/030: Revision of the Proposal for the Inclusion of the Lion in CMS Appendices

With reference to the proposal for the inclusion of the Asiatic lion (Panthera leo persica) in CMS Appendix I and the inclusion of all other subspecies of the lion (Panthera leo) in CMS Appendix II, submitted by the Government of Kenya for consideration by the 11^th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP11) to CMS (document UNEP/CMS/COP11/Doc.24.1.2), the Government of Kenya informed the Secretariat of its intention to modify the original proposal as follows:

Proposal for the inclusion of the lion (Panthera leo) in CMS Appendix II.

The Government of Kenya requested the Secretariat to notify Contracting Parties and other stakeholders of its intention to submit a revised proposal at COP11, pursuant to Rule 11 of the COP Rules of Procedure.
