2026/006: Amendments to the Appendices of the Convention

The Fifteenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) held from 23 to 29 March 2026 in Campo Grande, Brazil, decided on the inclusion of 40 taxa on the Appendices of the Convention. These taxa and the Appendices to which they were added are set out in tables contained in Annex 1 of this Notification. 

In accordance with Article XI, paragraph 5 of the Convention, the amendments shall enter into force for all Parties ninety days after COP15, which is 27 June 2026, except for those Parties that make a reservation. In accordance with Article XI, paragraph 6 of the Convention, during the period of ninety days after COP15, any Party may, by notification in writing to the Depositary (the German Federal Foreign Office), make a reservation with respect to an amendment. 

Furthermore, COP15 adopted certain taxonomic and nomenclatural changes in accordance with the standard references used by CMS, as presented in document UNEP/CMS/COP15/Doc.29.3/Rev.1. These changes are summarized in Annex 2 of this Notification.
