This side event aims to promote transboundary cooperation among Balkan countries for the conservation of the Balkan Lynx (Lynx lynx balcanicus), a critically endangered subspecies listed under CMS. The event will highlight regional conservation efforts, coordination mechanisms, and challenges related to cross-border population management. It will also provide a platform for discussion in anticipation of the approval of the Regional Strategy for the Conservation of the Balkan Lynx at CMS COP15, fostering stronger regional commitment and collaboration under the CMS framework.
