The side event will first present the impact that electrocution in powerlines has on several threatened migratory birds inhabiting the Mediterranean basin. 

Then, it will deepen the different management approaches to face this threat taking as main examples the regulatory systems in place in Italy and Spain, the best retrofitting techniques and other key aspects to solve this issue. 

The event will also include a general discussion of conservation measures recommended and implemented in both countries and worldwide.
