This side event will examine how protected area networks can become more resilient to climate change by highlighting opportunities and challenges in establishing eco-corridors. Presenting case studies from the mountains of Central Asia and beyond, this side event will explore how eco-corridors, with strong community involvement, can be important tools to connect nature and species across borders and enable cross-sectoral land use management. Experts will present eco-corridor successes in their national context, followed by a panel discussion on the challenges of managing and establishing eco-corridors effectively in cross-border contexts.
