Act Green was a NASA-funded project, conducted by a coalition of partners led by the Wildlife Conservation Society and including WWF, Panthera, and IUCN Species Survival Commissions. The project developed dynamically updateable habitat models for three focal species, of which two are of direct CMS interest - jaguar and lions. The models integrate remote sensing, field observations and expert opinion, and critically delineate opportunities for restoration and rewilding in addition to currently occupied habitat. During this event, we will briefly present the technical details of the modelling framework. We will then showcase the results, and introduce partners to the web platform where all data can be viewed and downloaded. Finally, we will discuss how these models can help improve range-wide conservation efforts for jaguars and lions, and how uptake of the models can be improved.
