Parties are encouraged to: a) implement the Samarkand Strategic Plan for Migratory Species (SPMS) 2024–2032 and, where possible, make linkages with their National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks and other relevant multilateral environmental agreements; b) contribute to compilation of SPMS baselines needed to monitor its implementation ensuring data is provided according to agreed indicators and within timelines established by the Standing Committee; c) report on the implementation of the SPMS through their National Reports, as appropriate, using the standardized template and including measurable progress towards SPMS goals and targets.
