2025/029: High-Level Segment at CMS COP15

As announced in Notification 2025/014, the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) will take place from 23 to 29 March 2026 in Campo Grande, Brazil. 

The CMS Secretariat is pleased to confirm that a High-Level Segment will be taking place as part of COP15.  The High-Level Segment will take place on 22 March 2026, along with associated events. 

The High-Level Segment will be convened under the overall COP15 theme: Connecting Nature to Sustain Life.  It will focus on the importance of ecological connectivity for conserving ecosystems that are vital for migratory species and human well-being, as well as linkages between the conservation of migratory species and climate change. 

The High-Level Segment will particularly showcase efforts in the Latin American and Caribbean region to address these intertwined issues and will also provide an opportunity for governments of other regions, as well as multi-lateral institutions and non-governmental organizations, to demonstrate their achievements on these matters.

The High-Level Segment will welcome ministers and other high-level participants. Kindly communicate the date to the office of your minister and high-level representatives to ensure that it is on their calendars.

A formal communication and further details of the event will be provided from the Government of Brazil and the CMS Secretariat in due course.
