2025/015: Further Request to Parties for Information on the Implementation of the Appendix I-Listing for the Oceanic Whitetip Shark (Carcharhinus Longimanus)

This Notification is a follow-up to Notification 2024/007 sent at the request of the 56th Meeting of the Standing Committee (StC56), which met in Bonn, 25-27 March, 2025. After reviewing information received from Parties (see UNEP/CMS/StC56/Doc.16) and noting the very low response rate to Notification 2024/007, StC56 requested the Secretariat to gather more information and encourage additional responses from Parties that had not replied to the original Notification.

The Notification relates to CMS Decisions 14.114 – 14.116 Implementation of the CMS Appendix I-Listing for the Oceanic Whitetip Shark (Carcharhinus longimanus) requesting Parties to provide information on their domestic and regional management measures for the oceanic whitetip shark, clarifying how they meet the objectives and obligations of the CMS Appendix I listing.

Parties that have not yet submitted their responses in 2024 are asked to complete the attached questionnaire. This information will be presented at the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15).
