2025/010: Funding Opportunity for Wildlife Health

The Secretariat of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) would like to bring to your attention the funding opportunity of “Nature4Health” which addresses the environmental determinants of health and strengthens the integration of the environment in the One Health approach and thereby helps secure the health of ecosystems, animals, plants and people.

The deadline for the current call for expression of interest is 24 March 2025. The application package and further details are available at https://nature4health.org/eoi .

The call is open only to governments of countries, territories or entities who are eligible to receive overseas development assistance (ODA).

This call promotes objectives that are consistent with those of the CMS and its specialized agreements. It addresses the drivers of disease emergence with specific focus on prevention, bio surveillance, understanding pathogen infection dynamics and implementing intervention activities. It may thus provide a source of funding for Parties in implementing COP14 outcomes, in particular those recommended by Resolutions 14.18 Avian influenza, and Resolution 12.6 (Rev.COP14) Wildlife health and migratory species.

The Secretariat thus encourages Parties to the Convention to propose projects that contribute to the implementation of CMS, its instruments and COP resolutions and decisions, and will strive to support these proposals, e.g., with letters of endorsement, as appropriate.
