2023/012: Junior Professional Officer

The Secretariat would like to draw attention to Resolution 13.2 on “Finance and Administrative Matters” which invites Parties to consider the feasibility of financing Junior Professional Officers (JPO) and / or providing gratis personnel or technical experts to the Secretariat to increase its capacity. 

As a matter of course, the Secretariat has recently presented proposals for JPOs to the UNEP which coordinates the programme. 

This year proposals for JPOs relate to the following key areas of work of the Convention:  

• Climate Change and Renewable Energy
• Marine Species 

The Secretariat invites CMS focal points to bring these proposals to the attention of their JPO coordinators in their respective countries.
