MIKT Consultative Group
The MIKT Consultative Group is foreseen in the MIKT Modus Operandi and is an informal group that provides advice to MIKT.
The members of the Consultative Group are:
- The European Commission
- The Bern Convention Secretariat
- The AEWA Secretariat
- The Raptors MOU Secretariat
- The Chair of the African-Eurasian Migratory Landbirds Action Plan (AEMLAP)
- The Chair of the CMS Scientific Council
- BirdLife International
- European Hunters Federation (FACE)
The group meets on an ad hoc basis, usually ahead of Joint meetings of CMS MIKT and the Bern Convention, in order to discuss organisational matters, the agenda and other points of interest.
The membership list is not exhaustive, so the invitation to the group meetings is regularly extended to all members of MIKT and other observers or experts that have shown interest for the work of MIKT. The Consultative Group is convened by the CMS Secretariat and meets online.
The European Union was recognized as Champion Plus for their generous support and commitment towards addressing Illegal Killing, Taking and Trade of Migratory Birds in the Mediterranean for the period 2015 - 2028.
