Change in Dates of the Third Meeting of Parties to the CMS Gorilla Agreement

Parties are informed of the change in dates of the Third Meeting of Parties to the Gorilla Agreement (GA MOP3).

The GA MOP3 will now take place from 20-25 November 2016 in Jakarta, Indonesia, together with the third meeting of the Great Apes Survival Partnership (GRASP) Council, as per Notifications 2014/023 (Gorilla Agreement: New Party, New Action Plan and Postponement of Third Meeting of Parties) and 2015/030 (Tentative Location for Third Gorilla Agreement Meeting of Parties and Proposal for Cooperation between GRASP and the CMS Gorilla Agreement).  A dedicated webpage will be set up shortly.

Submission of Implementation Reports by Parties

Article IV (1) (c) of the Agreement provides that each Party “shall prepare for each ordinary session of the Meeting of Parties […] a report on its implementation of the Agreement with particular reference to the conservation measures it has undertaken.” “Each report shall be submitted to the Agreement secretariat not less than one hundred and twenty days before the ordinary session of the Meeting of Parties […]”. Parties were requested to submit their implementation reports by 17 July 2016 to the Agreement Secretariat at [email protected]. So far, the Secretariat received reports of the Central African Republic and the Republic of Congo only.
