Following notification 2023/018, the Secretariat confirms that the14th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS COP14) will be held at the Silk Road Samarkand Conference Center in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from 12 to 17 February 2024.

The 54th Meeting of the Standing Committee (StC54) will be held on 11 February 2024 in the same location. A High-Level Segment and CMS Champions’ Night will likely take place on 11 February too.   

More details on these meetings and possible additional associated events that may take place during or prior to COP14 will follow in due course. 

Registration

Parties, non-Parties and observers who have already registered for COP14 do not need to re-register. If any Parties, non-Parties or observers would like to cancel their registration, kindly contact the Secretariat at [email protected].

Registrations can be made through the registration website at COP14 Registration.

Documents

The deadline for submitting documents with a scientific component has passed and has not been extended. All such documents are posted on the CMS COP14 webpage. The comments and recommendations made by the 6th Meeting of the Sessional Committee of the Scientific Council (SC-ScC6), held from 18 to 21 July 2023, will be posted on the same page as soon as possible.

The deadline for submitting documents without a scientific component by Parties is now 14 November 2023. The submission and posting deadlines are provided in the attached document.  Parties are requested to submit all documents to the Secretariat at [email protected].

Side events

Anyone interested in applying for a side event is kindly requested to inform the Secretariat by filling out the application form available here: https://meetings.cms.int/meetings/SideEvents/registration no later than 30 September 2023.

Side events should be relevant to the objectives of the Convention and preferably tied to subjects to be discussed as part of the COP14 agenda. The Secretariat will inform successful applicants after the indicated deadline on the time slot allocated for their event and provide them with further information.

Accommodation

The Secretariat is working with the Government of Uzbekistan on finalizing arrangements for booking rooms. Information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
