The Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) Secretariat in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) has invited representatives from African Wild Ass Range States and associated species experts to a workshop at the UN Campus in Bonn from 6 to 7 March 2017.
CMS and the BMUB hope to produce an international plan to secure the future of the African Wild Ass (Equus africanus) by strengthening transboundary cooperation within the region and foster a framework to implement conservation measures. The workshop will discuss issues ranging from current threats, key conservation areas, future conservation measures, and further research opportunities within the species range. It is hoped that this meeting will lay the foundation for the Range States to act on saving this critically endangered species from extinction.
This activity has been kindly sponsored by the German Government, through the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB)
