2014/001: Launch of Online Manual for NFPs on CMS and its Instruments

The UNEP/CMS Secretariat is pleased to announce the launch of the Online Manual for National Focal Points on CMS and its Instruments.

The CMS Family Manual is a joint project by CMS, AEWA and other CMS Instruments and was developed by the Secretariats in close collaboration with the National Focal Points and other experts. The Manual, to be used as a dynamic reference tool for National Focal Points to support them in their roles and responsibilities on a national and international level, is now available in English, French and Spanish from the CMS Website. The print version is in the making and will also be available soon.

This Manual was launched at the Capacity Building Workshop (Cape Town, 29-31 October 2013) designed to introduce the chapters to the National Focal Points of the African region.  This workshop was supported by the Thematic Programme for Environment and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources including Energy (ENRTP) Strategic Cooperation Agreement between the European Commission and UNEP under the project Effective Implementation of CMS, AEWA and Other CMS Family Instruments across Various Regions and Languages through Capacity Building over the Period 2012-2014

As part of the Capacity Building Strategy 2012-2014, the UNEP/CMS Secretariat aims to hold similar training workshops in other regions of the world in the future.
Any queries regarding the Manual should be directed to the CMS Capacity Building Officer, Francisco Rilla ([email protected]).
