2014/004: Call for Nominations for the CMS Workshop on Climate Change

The Secretariat of the Convention on Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) is pleased to inform you that a workshop “Towards a CMS Programme of Work on Climate Change will be held in Costa Rica, from 9 to 11 April 2014 (tentative dates). This workshop is being convened by the COP Appointed Councillor for Climate Change, Mr. Colin Galbraith in collaboration with the CMS Secretariat and Costa Rica’s Ministry of Environment, Energy and Telecommunications (MINAET), and with the generous financial support of the Governments of the Federal Republic of Germany and Monaco. The workshop will be held in English.

Available resources for this meeting are limited and only a small number of delegates will be sponsored. The selection of sponsored participants will be made on criteria for the eligibility for sponsorship for CMS meetings (Resolution 10.1, Annex III), relevant expertise and language skills, and geographic and gender balance. 

National Focal Points are invited to send the names and coordinates of their nominee, together with a brief outline of the expert’s area of expertise, at their earliest convenience, but no later than 1 March 2014, scanned and attached to an email addressed to Marie Mévellec ([email protected]).
