In Sri Lanka, bushmeat poachers haven’t let up during lockdown
The killing of a 25-year-old ranger by poachers during Sri Lanka’s lockdown period has prompted calls for greater efforts to tackle the illegal bushmeat trade. Demand for bushmeat traditionally comes from domestic tourists visiting areas near national parks and reserves, but this market dried up with the lockdown.
