First Press Conference of CMS COP11 Taking Place

Quito, 4 November 2014 – The Secretariat of the UNEP Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) and the Ministry of the Environment of Ecuador will be holding a press conference today.  The press conference will focus on the results of the High Level Ministerial Panel which took place on 3 November and on the key issues on the agenda for the 11th meetig of the Conference of the Parties to CMS taking place 4-9 November in Quito, Ecuador.

Among the speakers at the press conference are expected to be: Her Excellency Lorena Tapia, Minister of the Environment of Ecuador, Mr Bradnee Chambers, Executive Secretary of UNEP/CMS, His Excellency Noël Nelson Messone, Minister of the Environment of Gabon, Mr John Scanlon, Secretary-General of CITES, Mr. Peter Püschel, Director of International Agreements of IFAW and Mr. Philippe Cousteau, the explorer and champion of the environment.
