Several Decisions adopted by COP14 invite the Secretariat to collect data or information from Parties on issues relevant for ecological connectivity.
Decision 14.195 on Ecological Connectivity requests the Scientific Council to review the results of its survey of existing major databases that may support relevant analyses and syntheses of information on connectivity.
Decision 14.203 (c) on Infrastructure Development and Migratory Species requests the Secretariat to develop and circulate among Parties a questionnaire on the availability of data on migratory species and linear infrastructure, and repositories of this data.
Decision 14.19 (g) on the Atlas on Animal Migration mandates the Secretariat to request feedback from Parties through notification for future development of the Atlas.
Parties are therefore invited to provide the following information to the CMS Secretariat:
a) Which modules of the Atlas you use and for which purposes;
b) How using the Atlas has benefited your work;
c) How the existing modules could be updated or improved and;
d) Which additional modules would you recommend developing.
Please send this information about Atlas directly to the CMS Secretariat at [email protected] (these questions are not included in the above online survey).
If possible, please provide this information by 30 April 2025. This would allow the Secretariat and Scientific Council to implement the aforementioned Decisions and make recommendations for the related topics for COP15.
