2024/017: Migratory Species and National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs)

The Secretariat of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) is pleased to inform Parties about guidance documents and other tools to support the integration of migratory species’ needs and considerations in the revision and update of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) in accordance with Decisions 14.6 and 14.7. These resources can be found at: https://www.cms.int/en/activities/capacity-building/nbsaps.

This is in line with CBD decision 15/6 which requests Parties to submit revised or updated NBSAPs, including national targets, which are aligned with the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) and include commitments and recommendations under the various Multilateral Environment Agreements (MEAs) by the Sixteenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) in 2024.
