2022/003: Range State Meeting on the Single Species Action Plan for the Angleshark in the Mediterranean Sea

The Secretariat of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) is pleased to announce the Range State Meeting on the Single Species Action Plan for the Angelshark (Squatina squatina) in the Mediterranean Sea, which will take place on the 5 and 6 July 2022. Relevant information, including the registration link, will be provided on our meeting page.

The meeting will be held online, as two four-hour workshops, to finalise the Action Plan and related documents for formal adoption at the 14th Conference of the Parties. All CMS Parties, non-Party Range States bordering the Mediterranean Sea, and experts are invited to participate in the meeting.

The Secretariat would like to invite comments on the following draft meeting documents:

The drafts are accompanied by a cover document (CMS/Angelshark-SSAP/Background), providing background information and detailing the next steps. The documents, made available in English, have been prepared by the Secretariat and the Advisory Committee of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Sharks. This initiative has arisen from Concerted Action for Angelshark first adopted at COP12 and extended at COP13 (Concerted Action 12.5 (Rev.COP13)).
