Further to Notification 2019/004, the UN Environment Programme/CMS Secretariat would like to inform Parties of the interim arrangements for the management of the Secretariat.

The Acting Executive Director of UN Environment, Ms. Joyce Msuya, has extended the term of Mr. Marco Barbieri as Officer in Charge of the Secretariat for the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) until 31 March 2019. Mr. Barbieri has received the appropriate delegation of authority to enable him to effectively discharge his responsibilities.

The UN Environment Programme will, in due course, inform the CMS Secretariat of further plans for the leadership of the Secretariat for the period after 31 March 2019. We will keep Parties informed of these developments.
