The UN Environment Programme/CMS Secretariat would like to inform Parties of the interim arrangements for the management of the Secretariat. 

The Acting Executive Director of UN Environment, Ms. Joyce Msuya, has designated Mr. Marco Barbieri as Officer in Charge of the Secretariat for the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) until 1 March 2019. Mr. Barbieri has received the appropriate delegation of authority to enable him to effectively discharge his responsibilities. 

The UN Environment Programme will, in due course, inform the CMS Secretariat of further plans for the leadership of the Secretariat for the period after 1 March 2019. We will keep Parties informed of these developments.
