On behalf of his government, the Ambassador of Poland, H.E. Mr Andrzej Byrt, signed the Aquatic Warbler Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 13 July. He stressed that this is a small but important component of the endeavours under CMS to help rescue important resources for mankind for this and future generations. He mentioned that he himself has experienced the destruction of nature in Poland, Germany and other countries which, in this dimension, certainly does not further the conservation and sustainable utilisation of diversity.

With the signature of Poland, 11 of the 15 Range States have now signed the MoU. With the recently established small Secretariat of BirdLife Belarus, we are on the right path in securing the start of the implementation of this MoU. The CMS Secretariat will also endeavour to attract the signatures of the remaining Range States which have not yet signed.
