At their last Meetings of Parties of the ASCOBANS and EUROBATS
Agreements (Bristol 2000), a decision was made to join the
Agreements Unit of the Convention on Migratory Species.
Synergies, greater efficiency and closer co-operation are
expected to arise from co-locating the Agreement Secretariats.
EUROBATS and ASCOBANS will become part of the CMS Agreements
Unit on 1 January 2001. They will join the permanent AEWA
Secretariat which already moved to Bonn in July 2000.
The vacancy announcements for the following posts are available:
Executive
Officer of the Agreement on the Conservation of Cetaceans
in the North and Baltic Seas (ASCOBANS) (P3)
Executive
Officer of the Agreement on the Conservation of Bats in Europe
(EURO BATS) (P3)
