German Federal President Visits UN Campus in Bonn

Bonn,

- Federal President Joachim
Gauck visited the United Nations Campus in Bonn
today. The UN in Bonn has a particular
focus on sustainable development. 19 of the
27 UN agencies in Germany and approximately
1,000 employees are based in Bonn.

Bradnee Chambers
participated in a round table discussion together
with other Heads of UN Agencies.

The President
honored the work of the United Nations shortly
before the 40th anniversary of Germany's admission
to the world organization. Both German states,
the Federal Republic of Germany and the German
Democratic Republic, joined the United Nations
on 18 September 1973.
