Pre-COP Regional Workshops

Bonn, 4 July 2017– the CMS Secretariat is holding a series of regional preparatory workshops in the run-up to COP12.  The first is taking place in La Paz, Bolivia from 18 to 20 July.

As well as the La Paz Workshop aimed at Parties in Latin America and the Caribbean, further meetings are scheduled in Addis Ababa for Africa from 9 to 11 August, Bonn for Asia from 15 to 17 August and finally in Brisbane for the Oceania Region from 28 to 30 August.

Primarily, these events will concentrate on enabling Parties to coordinate their participation in the COP more effectively and on facilitating regional consultation. There will also be opportunities to discuss further capacity-building requirements to help implement CMS beyond COP12.

Bradnee Chambers, Executive Secretary
