High Level Panel

Quito, 3 November 2014 - On the eve of what promises to be the best-attended COP in the Convention’s 35-year history, CMS held its first High Level Ministerial Panel.

Moderated by environmental advocate and broadcaster, Philippe Cousteau, the topic under discussion was “Uniting the rights of nature with the green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication: finding solutions to protect international wildlife”.  The panel included environment ministers from Ecuador, Gabon, Mozambique and Togo, and the two keynote speeches were given by Dr Steven Stone and Dr Cormac Cullinan.
