Bonn,
13 November 2012 - Angela Cropper, the former Deputy
Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme
(UNEP), has passed away following a long and courageous
battle with cancer.

As Deputy Executive Director, Angela was
involved in the ongoing work within the CMS Family in her
role supervising the Executive Secretaries of the CMS Family.
“When I met her during the annual UNEP Governing Council
meetings or at any other event, she always was interested
to hear about what was going on within the CMS Family”,
said Bert Lenten Officer-in-Charge at CMS. “Several
Staff members knew her while working for UNEP in Nairobi
before joining the CMS Secretariat and all of them remember
her as a very amiable person. Although we knew for some
time the moment would come that we had to bid farewell to
Angela it came still as a shock for many of us when the
message arrived this morning that she had passed away yesterday.
Our sincere condolences go to her family and friends.”
