The Conference of the Parties at its 11^th meeting (COP11, Quito, November 2014) by Resolution 11.6 on Review of Decisions adopted new definitions for the submission of documents to future meetings of the Conference of the Parties, namely ‘Resolutions’ and ‘Decisions’.

To ease the preparation of resolutions and decisions for the 12^th meeting of the Conference of Parties (COP12, Manila, October 2017) the Secretariat has prepared a detailed guidance note.

When preparing documents for COP12, Parties are encouraged to utilize the guidance note, which is available at http://www.cms.int/en/meeting/twelfth-meeting-conference-parties-cms
