The location on the map is approximate!
Description:

Pursuant to Resolution 10.19 on Migratory Species Conservation in the light of Climate Change, the workshop will be convened by the COP Appointed Councillor for Climate Change, Prof. Dr. Colin Galbraith and co‑organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) and Costa Rica’s Ministry of Environment, Energy and Telecommunications (MINAET).

The workshop’s objective is to prepare a CMS Programme of Work on Climate Change and migratory species. The workshop will therefore focus on the key priorities for action and on the practicalities of delivering this over the coming triennium. It will make provision for participants to discuss views, and share experiences and best practices, with regards to the impact of climate change on migratory species. It will also assist Parties in developing national guidelines on measures needed to assist migratory species to adapt to climate change.

The results of the workshop will be considered by the Scientific Council at its eighteenth meeting, and by the eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the CMS. The results will also be brought to the attention of other relevant institutions including the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
