With support from Sweden, Switzerland, Germany
and BirdLife International, the CMS and AEWA Secretariats
will jointly organize with UNEP's Division of Environmental
Law and Conventions, a Preparatory Negotiation Workshop
to the Tenth CMS Conference of the Parties (COP10)
for the Africa region from 26th-28th October 2011
in Entebbe, Uganda. This will address the need to
enhance the capacity of CMS and AEWA national focal
points negotiators from African countries for which
the occasion will also be utilized to enable the
participants to prepare themselves, discuss common
issues and possibly agree on common positions and
negotiate effectively at CMS COP10 due to take place
from 20th-25th November 2011 at Bergen, Norway and
the AEWA MOP5 scheduled to take place in May 2012
in La Rochelle, France.
Avec l’appui de la Suède, de la Suisse,
de l’Allemagne et de BirdLife International,
les secrétariats de la CMS et de l’AEWA
organiseront avec la division du droit environnemental
et des conventions du PNUE, un atelier de préparation
et de négociation à la dixième
Conférence des Parties de la CMS (COP10)
pour la région d’Afrique. Cet atelier,
qui se tiendra du 26 au 28 octobre à Entebbe,
Ouganda, a pour but de renforcer les capacités
des correspondants nationaux et des négociateurs
africains de la CMS et de l’AEWA. A cette
occasion, les participants pourront se préparer
à la COP10, discuter des questions communes
et parvenir à un accord sur des positions
communes afin de négocier efficacement à
la COP. Celle-ci aura lieu du 20 au 25 novembre
à Bergen en Norvège. Cet atelier sera
également bénéfique à
la MOP5 de l’AEWA, qui se tiendra en mai 2012
à La Rochelle, France.
