What is a CMS Ambassador?
spacer

CMS Ambassadors are eminent personalities well known in the conservation and media worlds for their work on endangered animals. They are selected by the Executive Secretary of the Convention on Migratory Species on the basis of their outstanding work achievements in the field, and asked to accept the “CMS Ambassadorship”, in recognition of their accomplishments and as a lifetime commitment to promote the cause of the CMS, namely the conservation of migratory species and their habitats.

CMS Ambassadors will be asked to participate every three years in the Conference of the Parties to the Convention and to attend relevant meetings on specific species of concern.

Through their work and their contacts with the press and media, CMS Ambassadors will promote the cause of migratory species, thus contributing to enhancing the public's, and decision-makers' knowledge of the animals and the threats they face.
